What a tremendous weekend with Seize the Grey and Here's the Kicker. When you experience both a Grade 1 and Maiden WIN for the weekend the "HIGH" emotions you experience that only a race victory can bring last for days. Thanks, MRH, for another great experience; I anticipate many more.

Customer service was good; payouts on horses stinks!

MyRacehorse Thanks for sharing your feedback with us- we value all of our owners’ input when it comes to our customer experience. We’re more than happy to explain more behind our payouts. To keep the one-time out-of-pocket payment system, race earnings are used to replenish the account. If the cash gets depleted, we pay the bills out of our pocket, only being paid back through future earnings or a secondary stock offering(which we have not utilized to this day). If there is a negative amount in the cash reserve at the end of the career/series, MRH’s parent company takes the loss. If there is money left, we distribute it back to our investors on a pro-rata basis. We hope this clears things up!

MRH tells us that the only money you have to lose is the amount you put up for the cost of a share. But what they don't ever tell us is that there is cost on unrealized gain (moneys won by your horse through their races). You would think when your horse wins a race with a $200,000 purse you would hit the jackpot. But you have to pay for all the maintenance while horse was not running. You see when you buy the share you create a reserve and every day of the horse's career that reserve is used to pay the bills. This is money that you put up all ready and once it gets below desired amount the horse must win purse money to make it up, therefore more cost to your original purchase. Bottom line MRH never explains the cost of upkeep of your horse above and beyond your original purchase.

MyRacehorse You are correct, what is great about partnering with us is that you can never lose more than your initial investment. MRH is all about bringing the owner experience to the masses at a fraction of the cost! We do our best to mitigate the risks associated with racehorse ownership, however, it is impossible to own a horse without also incurring the costs of care! But we’re happy to clarify our Reserve Accounts for you. We try to collect enough cash upfront to get your horse to the races and have cash available for the early stages of their career. We then use the horse earnings to help pay for future training, care, and administrative expenses. Our target reserve is to consistently keep nine months of estimated training and care costs, including insurance and administrative series costs for each horse. As these funds naturally deplete over time, we manage a reserve account to ensure we can continue campaigning your horse and pay for its training and care. To keep the one-time out-of-pocket payment system, race earnings are used to replenish the account. If the cash gets depleted, MRH covers the costs. All of the updates about our horses get sent to us at least 8 hours before the media has it. We are paying the bills...we should be first to know.

MyRacehorse Hi there! Our racing team works hard to provide our owner groups with the most accurate and timely information regarding their horses. As you mentioned, our owners do receive the information we have available prior to the media. When it comes to our horses competing at the highest levels there are media personnel in the barns constantly, however, we believe we do a great job keeping our owners informed as quickly as we have the information!
